We all need a break!
This is a short one.
I am tired and read zero books this year. But I want to consistently write, so I am testing this new, shorter format. I did it a lot for my old blog in 2013, sorry, all in Slovenian.
Before we dig in, do follow the art of my good friend.
Followed? Ok! Here are my thoughts from the last two weeks.
Success is a tip of the iceberg and
we often fail to appreciate the work invested. This can be anything; sports, writing, music, cooking or making furniture.
Charlatans sell shortcuts and we like to believe them because we want a lot, but would not do much for it. I know you know it: there are no shortcuts, no easy paths; success means sacrifice, mostly of time and also of relationships.
Mr. Beast, a Youtuber with over 90 million subscribers, was recently talking about how many hours they spent analysing why a Youtube video goes viral and what it took to get where he is today. I mean, yeah, a decade… for a f*cking Youtube channel. Which brings me to
the fact that everything is algorithm optimised.
This in turn causes worse content. Check out your google search results, often really full of shit. I notice it more lately, because I spent 15h Search Engine Optimising my own recipe library.
To get 100/100 points on an article you will need: perfect meta description at around 140 characters, enough content length (do not get to the point too fast!), internal and external links, great title, good readability, a great slug, focus and additional key-phrases. Plus you need loads of backlinks and you can buy those.
It’s one of those, “once you see it, you see it everywhere” things. For example, you apparently need to optimise for TikTok algorithm by pretending you are dancing while getting a message across.
Wake me up when this ends.
