I am not sure if you recall my last article (it was about investing) and if you remember when you subscribed to this newsletter. That’s because it’s hibernating due to

handpicked for Berlin
, which takes up all my free time dedicated to writing.

I guess I also had nothing to add.

But last week I published an article that could also be published here. Many of you are subbed to both Substacks, so sorry for this spam.

I think it came out well; it’s even a bit funny. Judge for yourself. But before you do, a short note: the following article on Eightyfour will be dedicated to the first anniversary of

handpicked for Berlin
.

See you in May!

(I also added some of my favourite stuff from Eightyfour below for all the subscribers who came here via handpicked for Berlin recommendation)

handpicked for Berlin
Write it down now! Or why you should journal at work?
First published at handpickedberlin.com TL;DR: Write down your achievements at work. At least each month. There are thousands of articles about the benefits of journaling. Writing things down in one way or another will help you park your thoughts from your brain on paper or in a notebook. Your thoughts, worries or problems will be clarified, and you will …

Have you ever published something solo, outside of an established channel? A website, an article, a blog post, a Youtube or a TikTok video? Hey, maybe you even created a product or wrote a book? I did and it mostly sucks. It goes like this: you work for quite some time, making sure it is not a total piece of shit. Polishing here, there and everywhere. It …

This was written at the end of the pandemic, and when I read it again today, I could have made the initial chapters flow better. The situation hurt some so badly that they still go on about it today.

10 questions for you and your (un)vaccinated friends
Let’s hope the worse of the Covid disaster is over. And, did you get vaccinated? Couple of friends that I respect did not. I am not going to lie, it irritated me, even if I was convincing myself that it should be a free choice. I recently sat with one of them and intentionally avoided discussing the topic…

Not liking your older stuff is a sign of progress. But I still like this meditation about being forgotten:

EightyFour
The liberating concept of sonder and being forgotten
Besides your partner, family and friends, nobody cares about you. Most of the people already forgot you exist. And yet, you worry: what did they think about my presentation? How did I come across at the dinner? Why did I say that? What do they think about [insert whatever…

I'd forgotten about "sonder"! Love that word. I'm going to have to work it into my life somehow.

Good to see you back on these pages, Igor!
